Sara is a General Practitioner with a master's degree in Science Applied to Adult Healthcare, focusing on Healthcare Management and Patient Safety from Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).
She is currently seeking a specialist degree in Improvement Science from Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).
She is also the founding leader of the IHI Open School at Hospital das Clínicas - UFMG and a member of the Global Chapter Leader Team - IHI Open School (2017-2019).
She currently works in the Urgent Care and Emergency Departments and as a member of the Medical Division of Hospital das Clínicas da UFMG.
