Marcia Makdisse

Marcia holds a degree in Medicine, a Masters in Cardiology, a PhD in Medicine, an MBA in Health Management and has recently become a VBHC certified Green Belt.

Marcia worked for 16 years at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (2003-2019), first as a member of the Research and Education Institute´s Health Management Center and, Subsequently, she served for 10 years as the Head of Cardiology (2005 to 2016).

Since 2016, Marcia has focused her career on Value-Based Health Care and in February 2017 was responsible for the implementation of Einstein´s Value Management Office (VMO), integrating key information areas – clinical data, patient outcomes, diagnostic and procedural coding and health economics, committed with the mission of adapting the Value agenda into Einstein´s context and implementing a VBHC strategy throughout the Einstein system.

Marcia Makdisse served as the Medical Manager of the Einstein´s VMO from February 2017 to June 2019 and left the position to become Co-founder and Value Chief Officer (CVO) at CareCycle, a Startup aimed at designing and implementing VBHC solutions that will contribute to transforming Health Care Systems.

In the last years, Marcia has attended several courses and seminars in VBHC, among them “Strategy for Health Care Delivery” (Professors Michael Porter, Robert Kaplan and Thomas Lee, Harvard Business School, Boston, MA, 2018), the ""VBHC Green Belt Track Blended Learning"" (Professor Fred van Eenennaam, The Decision Group/ VBHC Center Europe, 2018-2019), ""The High Value Health Care workshop"" (Professors Elisabeth Teisberg and Scott Wallace, The Value Institute for Health and Care, 2019) and most recently she has become a VBHC Certified Green Belt (April/2019).
