Dr. Marcio Sá - Espanha

Head of Chief of Multidisciplinary Sepsis Unit in Son Llatzer`s Hospital and Director of the Sepsis Management Course by Spanish Society of Intensive Care Medicine and organizes educational multidisciplinary courses by Sepsis with others Societies as Spanish Surgical, Internal Medicine or Emergence.

He also has participated in many multicenter studies within Principal or Co-Investigator and has been Coordinator of many Projects of Investigation in Sepsis and Infections in Critically Ill Patients as Multicenter Study by Haematological Patients in Intensive Care units or Sepsis Management in Spanish ICUs. He is associated investigator by Complutense University, Madrid and the Islas Baleares University-IUNICS, Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

His researches areas includes different knowledge in Sepsis and Infections Diseases of Critical Ill Patient: use of empirical antibiotics therapy, continuous perfusion of antibiotics, sepsis management, epidemiology of sepsis and VAP, treatment by severe peritonitis, the rule of biomarkers and its clinical and economic impact, diagnosis and treatment of fungal infections in critical ill patients.
