Pablo Otero is a physician, as well as a specialist in Healthcare Management, Universal Social Security, Médico, Marketing, Executive Management and is an experienced Business Coach. He has over 21 years of experience in managing healthcare systems, leading and managing the implementation of healthcare models based on populational management, individual risk management, applying technology and data analysis systems that can create value for people.
Since 2009, he has served as a board member of Cuenta de Alto Costo, and is currently its chairman. THe ""Cuenta de Alto Costo"" is a fund for dealing with high cost disease treatment in Colombia, a technical non-governmental agency created to deal with high-cost treatments within the General Social Security System in the country. It provides and ""Common Front"" to deal with high cost treatments as they represent a major impact for the country, by mobilizing Scientific Organizations, Partnering Institutions, Patient Associations and Health Insurers, in order to promote risk management for both EPS (public) and IPS (private) healthcare providers through education, promotion of successful experiences, capacity building and the creation of technical standards, in order to reduce the number of new high cost cases and search for higher scientific and technical quality in the management of existing cases, with the purpose of reducing the probability of related events.
