Adjunct Professor Marcelo Pellizzari is MD from University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Argentina, and MSc in Quality Improvement by the University of Murcia, Spain. He is one of the Founders and the first Associated Chief Medical Officer of Hospital Universitario Austral. At present, he is Chief Quality Officer and Chief Medical Informatics Officer at the same institution. He is also Academic Director of two Post Graduate Training Programs: "Healthcare processes improvement and logistics” and "Leadership and Patient Safety", and in charge of the Subject "Quality Improvement and Operations" at the Career of Specialist in Management and Health Economics at Facultad de Ciencias Biomédicas, Universidad Austral. He is also a Consultant for Hospitals, Diagnostic Centers and Insurance Companies, in both, public and private Institutions, with the focus on Processes Improvement, Patient Safety and Accreditations. He is a member of the Board of Directors of SACAS (Argentine Society for Healthcare Quality). As a researcher, he has publications in the field of Patient Safety especially in Adverse Events related to Medication Management.
