Henry Gallardo obtained his MD degree from Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá (Colombia), in 1991. He then specialized in Hospital Management and in Healthcare Administration (with emphasis in Social Security Systems), both degrees also from the Universidad Javeriana (1993 and 1994).
Since August 2018 he is Director General of Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá (FSFB). From March 2013 to July 2018, he was the Director of its University Hospital. Before, he was Corporate Business Director of the FSFB (2006-2012). He has served in various Boards in private companies and is a member (and vice president) of the Colombian Hospital Association Board. He is also part of the editorial committee of its journal, Hospitalaria.
Before FSFB and for five years, he worked with Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices & Diagnostics as Health Economics and Reimbursement Director for Latin America. From 1996 to 2001, he was Health Director at Fundación Corona. Prior to this, he lead various projects at the Colombian Minister of Health. He has also been a short term consultant for the World Bank (2001, 2002).
All his career, he has been professor of Healthcare Systems at different universities. He has several publications on topics related with the Colombian healthcare sector and its reform.
