Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquisa

Established in 1988 by merging of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein’s (HIAE) Nursing School, Technical School and Research and Development Laboratory, the Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquisa Albert Einstein (IIEPAE) (Education and Research Institute) grew rapidly following the opening of its new headquarters, in 2002, at the Josef Feher building.

Its mission is to “become a reference in research, development and diffusion of healthcare knowledge for society’s benefit.”

It currently features:

  • Research department, with units dedicated to experimental, clinical and pre-clinical research.
  • Centro de Educação em Saúde Abram Szajman (Health Education Center) which assembles teaching activities, training sessions and scientific diffusion), all within Sociedade Beneficente Israelita Brasileira Albert Einstein’s (SBIBAE) range of work.

The Institute also runs two important units targeted at researchers and physicians: Einstein’s Integrated Library System and an Information and Communication Center responsible for the telemedicine and Internet initiatives.

Today, IIEPAE is one of the unique features that make HIAE a pioneer in healthcare. IIEPAE works closely with important scientific research institutes both in Brazil and around the world, as well as national and international development agencies and governmental organizations.
